NCL Celebrates the Last Day of Early Voting

NEVADA—Nevada Conservation League (NCL) celebrates the last day of early voting in Nevada on Nov. 1. Your vote is your voice, and this election, we have the chance to get loud and usher in a future where Nevadan families have the freedom to breathe clean air, drink safe water, enjoy our public lands, and live in healthy communities.

Early voting allows people to have the flexibility to participate in a democracy that fits into their schedule and avoid long lines on election day.

“As a proud Nevadan and an Indigenous Native Hawaiian, I know firsthand how deeply connected we are to the land we call home. In Hawaiian, we say: He aliʻi ka ʻāina, he kauwā ke kanaka – ‘The land is chief, man is her servant,’” said Dillon Livae, Digital Media Manager at NCL, on Lotus La Buena KWID 101.9FM. “That’s why I am here today because every vote counts towards building a better Nevada.”

Early voting started Oct. 19 and ends today, Nov. 1. You can register to vote, find the closest poll, or track your ballot through the Nevada Secretary of State website. Nevadans can register to vote on the same day they cast their ballot.

Through voting, NCL and Nevadans can build a sustainable future for our environment and economy. One where we have good-paying clean energy jobs, safe water to drink, clean air to breathe, and public lands to enjoy.

“This summer, we hit a record number of 100-degree days, and like many Nevadans, I’ve had hard conversations at my kitchen table when my energy bill doubled — without lowering the thermostat,” Livae said. “But when we vote for climate champions, we have the power to make things better — better for our wallets, our environment, our families, and our future.”
