Nevada Conservation League Invests In The Fight For A Brighter, Better Future

NEVADA — Like many, the Nevada Conservation League is disappointed that climate champion Kamala Harris did not win, but we know that democracy is a verb, not a noun.

With 89% of our endorsed candidates winning their election, we know that our fight for public lands, good-paying clean energy jobs, accountability for utility monopolies, and clean air and water is a worthy fight that has many champions.

Of our winning endorsed candidates, 70% were women, and 50% were people of color, reflecting the diversity of Nevada.

All of our endorsed federal delegation was reelected. While some seats were lost at the state level, both houses still have a pro-environment majority.

We will continue to strive for a better, brighter, more prosperous future for Nevadans in the next 60 days, during Nevada’s 2025 legislative session, during the midterms, and in 2028.

Together, the Nevada Conservation League and our national affiliate, the League of Conservation Voters, invested over $2 million this cycle to elect climate champions up and down the ballot through phone banking, canvassing, direct contributions, and robust mail and digital advertising campaigns.

“Nevada Conservation League exemplified our commitment to electing pro-conservation candidates dedicated to protecting our public lands, our water, our air, and our votes,” said Kristee Watson, the Executive Director of Nevada Conservation League. “We stand united with each endorsed member of Nevada’s federal delegation that won reelection and is committed to hold the line under the incoming administration.”

Through our work, we’ve maintained a majority of pro-conservation candidates at the state level and demonstrated to Nevadans our dedication to fighting for good policy.

“We understand that policy impacts people. We are confident that during the 2025 Nevada Legislative session, we will continue to make critical strides to meet our climate goals, address environmental injustices, and protect our public lands and environment for future generations to enjoy,” said Christi Cabrera-Georgeson, the Deputy Director of Nevada Conservation League.
